ZukMe API for Games, Ads & Movies
Dress a game character, a film or ad's talent, or a music video artist, in real, purchasable fashion, or an original design in your own art direction. Send a frame, describe the look, and generate.
The problem
Dressing a character in real fashion is slow and expensive. Game studios model every garment from scratch. Film costume departments spend weeks sourcing and clearing looks. Ad agencies commission 3D artists to build clothing that's dated before the campaign even launches. Music video directors settle for generic wardrobe because there's no time to source real brands. The result: characters wear fashion that isn't real, and audiences can't buy what they see.
The solution
ZukMe already connects real shoppers to real garments through AI styling. The same engine works just as well starting from a character render, a film still, or a concept sketch instead of a customer's own photo.
Send us the frame and describe the look you want. We return the character or talent wearing it, either an original design generated in your own direction, or a real, purchasable garment matched from a catalog. When a real product is used, its name, price, and a link back to it come with the result.
There are two different outputs, and which one fits depends on your source image. Starting from a real, photographed person, real-garment styling preserves that person's own face and identity. Starting from concept art or a stylized character, the result is a new image generated in that same creative direction, not an edit of the exact original asset. See the technology below for which flow does which.
How it works
- 1Send a character render, film still, or concept sketch, any image where the character or talent's body is visible.
- 2Describe the outfit and the mood or art direction you want, or point us at a real garment from ZukMe's marketplace, your own brand catalog, or your production's own costume library.
- 3We generate the styled image, typically in 30 to 90 seconds. If a real product was used, its name, price, and purchase link come back with it.
What you get
Game studios
Generate marketing and promotional stills, trailer key art, and store page art, in real or original fashion, without commissioning a new 3D outfit asset. Best suited to photoreal or near-photoreal characters; for stylized or non-human characters, expect a new image in that creative direction rather than an edit of the exact existing asset.
Film & television
Preview a real garment on your actual actor before ordering or clearing it. Cut costume sourcing time from weeks to minutes for pre-rendered scenes and promotional stills.
Advertising
Style a CGI or photographed model in a real brand without building 3D clothing. Swap this season's collection into an existing campaign without a reshoot.
Music videos
Generate a full set of looks for one shoot in a single afternoon, using real, purchasable fashion instead of generic wardrobe.
The technology
This is built on the same four flows behind ZukMe's consumer and retail API, pointed at a character or talent image instead of a shopper's photo. Nothing new was built to serve entertainment, the underlying engine already does this. They split into two behaviors worth knowing before you pick one.
AI Custom Design
Any image plus your outfit and art direction in, a new photorealistic image generated in that direction out. It does not edit or preserve the exact source asset's likeness, it's a fresh generation inspired by it. Best for original looks and concept art where matching one specific real product isn't the goal. See the full reference.
StyleMe from ZukMe Marketplace
Matches a photoreal person's photo against ZukMe's real marketplace catalog and renders the exact product on them, preserving their own face. Best for a real actor, model, or photoreal character. See the full reference.
StyleMe for Your Own Inventory
Connects to your own brand catalog or partner inventory in real time, for productions with existing brand relationships. See the full reference.
Dressroom
Turns photos of your production's own costume or prop department into a searchable digital library you can style from. See the full reference.
Working with us
Enterprise engagements are scoped around your expected generation volume, with dedicated onboarding and support rather than a self-serve credit card. When a real, purchasable garment is used in your output, it carries the same pricing and product data as anywhere else on ZukMe, using entertainment content doesn't change how a real product is priced or represented. Usage rights, output licensing, and any volume-based terms are set per engagement, talk to our team about what your production needs.
What fashion partners get out of it
A designer or boutique already on ZukMe's marketplace can be discovered through an entertainment placement the same way they're discovered in the consumer app: a viewer sees the piece on screen, and the same product name, price, and link that power a normal styled look are what make it findable and purchasable. No extra inventory, new photography, or separate listing is required beyond what's already on ZukMe. A look that resonates on screen is also an early read on real demand for that piece.

Frequently asked questions
Does this work for real-time in-game character movement?
Not today. This generates styled 2D images, well suited to cutscenes, trailers, loading screens, character select art, and any other pre-rendered content. Real-time 3D character movement needs rigged, textured 3D assets, which is outside what this API produces.
Do we need to clear the garment with the brand ourselves?
Talk to our team about the exact terms for your kind of placement, entertainment and commercial use can raise licensing questions beyond a shopper trying something on, and it's worth confirming before you ship.
Will it keep my exact character's face and design, just in a new outfit?
For a real, photographed person, yes, real-garment styling preserves their own face. For concept art or a stylized character, no, AI Custom Design generates a new image in that creative direction rather than editing the exact original asset. If exact likeness matters for your use case, test it on your own art first, we'd rather you see a real result than take our word for it.
Can we use our own costume library instead of the marketplace?
Yes. The Dressroom API turns photos of your own wardrobe or prop department into a searchable library you can style from.
Who owns the output image?
This is set out in your enterprise agreement, usage rights aren't something worth leaving implied, so we'll confirm it in writing as part of onboarding.
How fast is generation?
A single styled frame typically takes 30 to 90 seconds.
